The head of the Arab Tawheed Party, Wiam Wahhab, wished Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri not to run for the presidency. And he said, in an interview on Al-Jadeed channel, “It is forbidden for you to come to every bloc that wants to blackmail you.” He pointed out that there is MP Hani Kobeisy who is not involved in corruption and the man is fit for this position, while Berri has become too old to enter a public position, and in the internal issue, we will not hand over our decision to Speaker Berri. Wahhab said that “there are three candidates today for prime minister, and they are: the current prime minister, Najib Mikati, and the two elected representatives, Ibrahim Mneimneh, and Abdel-Rahman al-Barazi.”

As for the presidency, he indicated that “the candidates are the head of the Marada movement, Suleiman Franjieh, the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Gibran Bassil, and the army commander, General Joseph Aoun, while Nemat Afram is also a serious candidate for the presidency, and this conflict could lead to Marwan Charbel coming as president of the republic.”

In conclusion, Wahhab saw that “we are going to a presidential vacuum unless the Iranian-Saudi understanding is reached. He reiterated that we will be facing a government crisis, calling on Prime Minister Saad Hariri to return to Lebanon and take over the prime ministership.”
