The Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Bassam Mawlawi, sent a letter to the Public Prosecution of Discrimination, against the background of placing an insulting phrase on the site of the tomb of the martyred Prime Minister Rafic Hariri on the Google Maps application, in order to take the necessary measures in terms of conducting the necessary investigation and to write to the administration of the said application in order to detect the perpetrator and refer him to the competent judicial references. Mawlawi considered that this matter constitutes an attack on civil peace, an infringement of the sanctity of the martyrs, and incitement to sedition.
