The Syndicate of Drug Importers, Karim Jbara, for the “Point Al Line” program on Voice of Lebanon Radio:

The main problem is that most of the basic medicines are still partially subsidized, while the medicines for incurable diseases are still 100% subsidized, and neurological medicines are partially subsidized. Pharmaceutical companies are competing to take part of the allocated amount, estimated at 25 million dollars.

The money given to subsidized medicines is not enough for all diseases. Those concerned must secure funding from abroad. The drug tracking system has been in place for about two years. No country can continue without health coverage. The state must come up with an integrated plan in order to obtain assistance for the health sector.
