The authorities in Malaysia announced that floods caused by heavy rains caused the displacement of more than 11,000 people and closed dozens of roads, disrupting maritime navigation. Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaqoub told a press conference that more than 66,000 police, army and fire department personnel were mobilized across the country to help rescue those stranded by the floods and take them to shelters.
