It was learned that the French government agreed in principle to accept the request of the Minister of Works Ali Hamiyah to provide 500 buses to Lebanon as a donation to strengthen the public transport network, in addition to a number of buses that are currently undergoing maintenance work at the expense of a still unknown donor. It was learned that the French side will provide used buses after their maintenance and modernization, and that their delivery will not take place at once. The French justified this with a “bad precedent” when the Lebanese authorities failed to maintain a large number of buses previously provided by France.
