The employees and workers of the municipality of Tripoli carried out a sit-in in front of the administration of the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Bassam al-Mawlawi, demanding “financial and living rights for the workers of the municipalities of Tripoli and the port,” and indicated that they “reached a dead end in their efforts.”
For his part, Captain Shadi Al-Sayed, representing the Federation of Trade Unions and Employees in the North and the General Labor Confederation, confirmed “the support of the Tripoli Municipal Workers’ Union in its demands,” noting that “the Minister of Interior has already worked to secure some of the demands previously submitted to him by a union delegation,” hoping that “He hurries to get the rest done.” The workers of the Tripoli municipality had carried out a protest movement in front of the municipal palace in the morning, where the union leader, Omar Dalal, confirmed that “the workers’ reality has become tragic,” considering that “ignoring their demands is a crime against them and their families.”
